Bauer & Baebler, P. C. devotes a substantial amount of their practice to representing victims of personal injury in cases against employers, manufacturers, the insurance industry, the medical profession and large corporations. We represent persons and families that have suffered personal injury or death due to railroad accidents, medical negligence, defective products, auto and truck accidents and work place injury.

Medical Malpractice

Every year thousands of people are injured or killed as a result of medical malpractice. Medical malpractice can arise when a medical facility, doctor or healthcare provider injures a patient due to the neglect of the medical care provider. Healthcare providers are required to meet certain standards of acceptable care. When they fail to do so, and a person is injured because of that failure, a medical malpractice claim can arise.

We have represented clients in cases involving obstetric malpractice/birth trauma, surgical malpractice, nursing malpractice, failure to diagnose/misdiagnosis, oncological malpractice, psychological or psychiatric malpractice, neurological/neurosurgical malpractice, nursing home malpractice, anesthesia malpractice and numerous other acts of neglect from the medical industry.

In most medical malpractice cases, the first step is for us to consult with you and obtain your medical records relating to the treatment received. Medical malpractice may often be proved on the basis of what is or is not contained in your medical records. If you suspect that you or a loved one has been injured as a result of medical malpractice, it is important to seek the advice of an experienced medical malpractice lawyer to be certain that your action is handled effectively and is brought within the time period mandated by state law. Our consultations are free of charge. Once we take a medical malpractice case Bauer & Baebler, P. C. fronts all of the expenses of the litigation.

Products Liability

Our attorneys have years of experience representing individuals who have been injured as a result of unsafe or dangerous products that were designed, manufactured, sold or furnished by a company or individual. We have represented individuals injured by faulty medical devices, pharmaceutical products, machinery and tools such as punch press machines and nail guns, unsafe vehicles such as all terrain vehicles, or vehicles with unsafe seatbelts or airbags, airplane, children's toys and many other consumer products.

One of our attorneys, Drew C. Baebler, has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. He is also licensed to practice before the U. S. Patent & Trademark office. This background aids Bauer & Baebler, P. C. in handling the technical aspect of products liability litigation. Bauer & Baebler, P. C. can help you recover money damages for your medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering and punitive damages as a result of serious injury or death from defective products.

Motor Vehicle and Truck Accidents

Automobile and truck accidents are some of the leading causes of injury and death in the United States. If you have been injured in an accident caused by another driver's negligence, you may be able to pursue a claim against them or their insurance carrier for property damage, personal injury, medical expenses, pain and suffering, past and future wage losses and in some cases punitive damages. You must be able to prove that the other driver was negligent, that the other driver's negligence caused the accident, and that you suffered damages as a result of the accident. Bauer & Baebler, P. C. are attorneys experienced in handling cases involving motor vehicle accidents in trial and settlement to obtain the best results for the injured victims and their families.

Clergy Sexual Abuse

In the last several years it has come to light that several members of the clergy and the religious organizations have engaged in sexual abuse of young people and that the diocese that employ the abusers have engaged in a systematic cover-up of this abuse.   Bauer & Baebler, P.C. vigorously represents victims of this abuse against the abusers and the organizations that support them.  Joseph L. Bauer, Jr. and James E. Hopkins, Jr. recently were successful in the Missouri Supreme Court in the case of Powel v. Chaminade, in which the Missouri Supreme Court held that repressed memory of past sexual abuse may delay the running of the statute of limitations for bringing a lawsuit.  This seminal case in Missouri jurisprudence may allow victims of clergy sexual abuse who repressed their memory of that abuse until recently to file lawsuits for their injuries, which previously would have been dismissed by the courts.  Bauer & Baebler, P.C. has worked closely with the Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests (SNAP) in representing victims of clergy abuse.

If you or a loved one has been the victim of clergy sexual abuse Bauer & Baebler, P.C. can help.  In order to preserve your rights to file a claim against the abuser and his religious organization, you should consult with us as soon as possible after the abuse occurred or the memory of the abuse returns.  Our consultations are free of charge.  If you or a loved one has been the victim of abuse, it is important to seek the advice of an experienced attorney who has handled these types of actions.
